Tthe Summer League produced a fantasic Summers Day on Saturday morning for the third race of the series and coupled with a large turnout, it was always going to mean a great race. The race was won by Philip Halpen and in second place was Junior Claffey. Gearoid OConnor certainly must have produced the fastest time of the day, running around 15.30 and coming through from last starting position to grab fourth place. Ronan Kearns and Michael Freeley would have posted the next fastest times

The second cross country race in the league turned out to be a very competitive affair. With one lap to go anyone of six runners were in with a shout. However debutant Rory O’Hanlon had other ideas and having been paced for five laps by Donna tore off when told he had only one lap to go. Powering away over the first 400 metres of the last lap he opened up a substantial gap and looked all over the winner. However with 200-300 metres left his early exuberance was beginning to tell and the pack began to close. Eoin Murray who had started with Rory and Donna and dropped someway off the pace stormed through on the last lap and was reeling in Rory on the last straight. However Rory held on to mark his debut with a win (his last as well). Eoin finished second holding off the fast finishing Eoin Flynn who posted the fastest time of the day (15.59). Donna despite the shock of seeing the winner take off at the start of the lap held her composure and finished 4th. For the results of the second race [click here]

  Club Winter League 2005/2006

The first round of the winter league took place on Saturday last in Tymon Park. Despite the bad weather of the previous few days the under foot conditions were surprisingly good and times were fast. Ann Mc Greal starting first ran a good steady race and lead until the second half of the last lap. The chasing pack were building up behind with Ronan Kearns coming through to win comfortably by 20 seconds. Sean Hehir starting some 20 seconds ahead of scratch man Mark Ryan ran a storming race to come through to second place posting the fastest time of 17.52, just piping Donna Mahon with Eamon Collins posting his fastest time over the course coming a close 4th. 20 athletes competed on the day, with good runs throughout. It was particularly good to see Jack Tyrell back running the only way he knows how. Hard. The next round of the league is scheduled for Saturday 17th December in Tymon Park.
